It was obvious that women were being asked to endure the painful, baffling, and often debilitating side effects of traditional hormone therapy in silence. If an alternative existed, it must be found. The first step in my journey was to revisit my biochemistry textbooks. Amazingly, it was all there and had been since 1955.
