Zenthings was started in Cork, Ireland in 2002 by a group of colleagues involved in the emerging health industry from fields such as massage, yoga and reiki. We were motivated to put a web-site together by what appeared to us to be a lack of available resources and equipment in this country for the alternative health industry. While many websites and businesses exist on either side of the water, postage costs and overpricing tend to be rather limiting as to the choices available. Fortunately through various connections outside Ireland, we have been able to source a few things for us all. So we set into our first problem – portable massage tables and chairs. It is obvious that a bodyworker without the stature of a rugby player will find it difficult to carry a table weighing 4 stone without requiring medical attention themselves – hence we sourced the world’s lightest adjustable wooden legged table with an innovative patented design. As our range of tables increased, we started to get requests for other products, so we added high-quality yoga mats to our range with the intention of providing them at the lowest possible wholesale price in Ireland and the UK. Judging by the response, it appears that we may have succeeded! We have also included some features on alternative therapies and spirituality (regularly or irregularly updated!) for the students/graduates in the hope that it might aid you in the daunting transition from learning to practicing. This is an especially important stage where the graduate must make the distinction between learning for their own benefit and that or their friends; and applying this learning to the generation of a sustainable income.
