Through various community-based fundraising efforts, grant applications and our business, L-OMA Buckwheat Pillows, our intent is to establish a charitable fund which will be available to persons with special needs requiring supports or assistance not otherwise accessible or available to them. There are countless individuals whose disabilities see them fall between the cracks of present services, and it is our hope to be able to help these people find ways that they might ultimately be able to help themselves. As a concrete example of this, we have consumers of services working alongside Bridges Foundation staff making and shipping our L-OMA Buckwheat Pillows, as they earn a living wage while at the same time helping raise money for other worthy individuals or endeavors. Consumers and their families are involved in all aspects of these efforts, including how and where funds are given.
